These spur rowels are laser cut out of high quality 304 stainless steel for added strength and are machined in a way that filing is not neccessary. Our rowels measure about 1 1/4" tall and are an 1/8" thick. They are designed to GRAB the bulls hide (bulls are loose hided animals). With that in mind, think about the way the bulls hide bunches up, almost gathering and with the design of these rowels with the inner grip, you have the bulls hide working for you, not against you. These rowels have bite. I recreated these spur rowels after my own that I filed by hand and have successfuly competed in for at least the past eight of my thirteen years of bullriding.
